Come participate in the festivities of this year's 5th Cordão de Ouro Batizado Event!

Cordão de Ouro Atlanta is delighted to have the opportunity to host the 5th Annual International Capoeira Conference.  This year, CDO Atlanta is very honored to welcome Mestre Tourinho as our special guest. In 2003 Mestre Tourinho founded the group Marrua Capoeira, He was a student from Mestre Suassuna and helped a lot in past the group Cordao de Ouro.

At this event, participants will have the opportunity to train and play capoeira along with these masters from Brazil and the United States. The 5th International Capoeira Conference and Educational Workshops will conclude with a community roda featuring capoeira masters from Brazil and across the United States.  The Masters and workshop participants will demonstrate various styles of capoeira play including Miudinho and the sequences of Mestre Bimba.  The event will also include demonstrations on the berimbau and pandeiro.  Members of Cordão de Ouro Atlanta will give performances of Maculelê, Dança do Fogo (a dance of fire) and Dança Guerrera (a warrior’s dance).  Finally, during the changing of the cords ceremony, the skills of the Atlanta students will be tested by the Masters, and students will receive cords representative of their skill level in the game..
